We Need A Little Christmas

Saying Roomie and I love Christmas would be an understatement. However we held it together and waited until the end of October to decorate. Trust me...that's pretty good for us!

This year we did a booze-y tree...it was so fun!! We decorated the white tree with mini shots from the liquor store. We figured this is the one time in our lives where that's acceptable, so why not?!

Mosby was generally a scrooge the whole Holiday season, but he did enjoy the ribbon. The hat? Not so much.

Then the baking started. We thought it would be fun to see how much of each ingredient we used throughout the season so we kept a tally. Pretty impressive for just the 2 of us! Almost all of the treats went as gifts...once I'd made that many I didn't feel like eating any cookies anyways.

For my friend gifts I did these cute wine/sock combos I found on Pinterest (naturally). Then my coworkers all got hot chocolate and bailey's mugs. I'm trying not to look too much into the fact this entire post has revolved around alcohol...

Last but not least, the yearly Christmas card! Ugly sweaters required. Even Mosby wore his! Took us a couple tries...but we finally got it. Merry Christmas everyone!

Lucky

With my new job the holiday schedule works out pretty well. Each person only has to work 1 holiday a year, and some are as easy as 4th of July or Labor Day. And that's it! Then sometimes you get the less fun holidays...like Thanksgiving and Christmas. I of course got Thanksgiving my first year here. And of course it was one of the few years my birthday falls on...wanna guess what? Yep...Thanksgiving. I threw myself a mini pity party...then got over it. Because that just meant my family would be joining me in Boise for Thanksgiving this year!

It worked out perfectly because Roomie was back home visiting her family, so my fam just stayed at my place! Dad and I did our birthday gifts together, since I missed his a few weeks prior. I was on call most of the weekend, but we still managed to explore the new Whole Foods in Boise, supervise Dad making delicious Thanksgiving dinner, and go to the Festival of Trees. It was sooo pretty!! I want to decorate a tree like that someday. Mosby was a typical grinch and was none too pleased with all the holiday cheerfulness.

This year I am so thankful for my amazing family and being able to spend the holiday with them!

Never Had It So Good

5 years...time flies!

I never would've guess the boy I met at BSU Freshman Orientation would still be my best friend...5 years later. To say we've been through everything would be putting it lightly. Over a year and a half doing long distance was more than enough, so happy he came back! I couldn't imagine being with anyone else. He had class the night of our anniversary, but we celebrated with P.F. Changs (my favorite) another night. I love you to moon and back! <3

Color On The Walls

Fun runs seem to be the trend this summer! And I love that even my "non-runner" friends will do them with me!

Sister wanted to come visit in August, but wanted there to be an event going on...so we signed up for the Dirty Dash! It was a 5 mile course up at Bogus Basin, complete with obstacles like hay bale hurdles, monkey bars, and of course...mud pits. We got some great pictures and had a lot of fun!

Don't forget the beer chug at the top!

Then we had the Color Run!! We had been planning and excited for this race since we first heard about it in January. But the date kept changing! And registration never opened! I don't know what kind of issues they were having, but every other city got the Color Run in the warm summer months while in Boise? We got it in mid-October. At 8am. It was cold to say the least. Never the less it was still such a fun race and we got cute shirts from it!

Let The Games Begin

Of course the year I get Boise State season tickets is the year I have a weekend job...wah wah. I was still able to make it to a handful of games, and my ticket never went to waste! The BF always found someone eager to take my place.

Our seats were in the South End Zone, only a few rows up. And they were reserved!! Hallelujah! Gone are the days of student general seating...waiting HOURS in line before games to wait inside the stadium another 2 hours for the game to start. Ahh the life of an alumni. The smoke from wildfires was crazy this fall though...yucky skies!

We had a black out game this year...meaning an excuse for me to go buy new black clothes! Kinda fun...but I think we should stick to our usual blue and orange...it's what we're known for!
